Introduction

CPU is also known as a central processing unit or we can also say a processor Central processor or microprocessor, it was also known as the brain of the computer. CPU is a small chip that is situated in the motherboard. it is used to run the programs already installed on the computer or you can install a program according to your needs.

The CPU receives instructions and commands given by the user and then it processes them to show the user. Nowadays there are different types of CPUs belonging to other generations. When the CPUs were newly invented, working speeds and multitasking speeds were prolonged but nowadays the multitasking speed and their performance have very well increased because processors consist of multi-core CPUs. The multi-core is used to perform multitasking Faster.

CPU for Different Types of Peoples

For Gamers

If you are thinking of using your computer for a complex task like gaming, rather than just for the standard programs and internet browsing, watching movies, and watching photos. then your computer needs to have a good clock speed.

Generally, a clock speed of 3.5 GHz to 4.0 GHz is considered a good clock speed for gaming. With this, it is also necessary that you should use a multi-core & multithreaded processor, which contains 4 or 6 cores in the mid-range and at least 6 to 8 cores on the high-end CPU.

For College Work

For your college work, you don’t need to have a better quality CPU, a normal CPU can give you a better experience in your day-to-day life. and also for college work, you need to do it and also they are cheaper to buy.

When choosing a CPU for your college work where you can also go with a single-thread CPU. A single-thread CPU cannot perform multiple actions but they give you a better speed for the operations you wanted.

Otherwise, you can go with a multi-thread processor. They are also good, or otherwise, we can say they are better than a single-thread processor. if a multithreaded processor takes a second to do the operation for opening any application that takes a little time but a single-thread processor can do that action within a second. But they cannot perform multitasking; they can only concentrate on one task file that you are performing.

If you are in the business of creative work like video editing, animation editing, and audio editing it requires that you have a powerful CPU. If you don’t have a powerful CPU it’s going to take a lot of time to process your data and become slow. Video editing, visual effects, and others require a high-performance CPU to run your PC smoothly. That’s why it is important to build a computer that will effectively handle this stuff.

For video editing, you need to have a multi-core hyperthreading processor. if you have more threads and cores then your pc is gonna work smoothly. Your PC needed to have at least 6 core CPUs. the higher the resolution of the video you are editing the more powerful processor you will need. If you have a good quality thread core processor then it will render your images so quickly and perform well. with this, it also needs to have a good clock speed.

For Office Work

Whenever it comes to business there are different types of business, and all different businesses have different needs, if you are working in the IT sector then you need to have a minimum of 4 core processors and if you are driving a cybercafe computer shop you can go with a dual-core processor which can give you an average performance experience.

When you are choosing a CPU for your business work then you can go with a dual-core processor. which can give you a better-performing speed. and it will also provide you with a multitasking feature. Also, the dual-core CPU is more chipper to buy and they can easily fulfill your business requirement if you observe any lag you can directly jump on 4core to 8-thread processors

For Audio Editors

If you are in the business of audio editing then a dual-core processor might be sufficient for a basic project. but a multi-core processor recommended by popular software like Ableton Live required a dual-core processor at a minimum while professional software compulsorily required a multicore processor. with this, it also requires that your CPU have a clock speed of 2 GHz.

if you have good financial condition then you can go with a clock speed of 3.0 GHz to 4.0GHz. If we compare 2D video editing with 3D then you can normally see a difference in that 3D video editing is quite more difficult than 2D. A normal CPU having two cores or four cores is not going to work for 3D rendering.

For 3D video editing, you need to have a high-performing CPU but at least a six-core CPU processor and a clock speed of 3.5 GHz to 5.5 GHz are required. For better video editing you require a multi-core processor which can rapidly process your data and a better quality clock speed is also needed. For Eg 8 core and 16 thread, 16 core and 32 thread,32 core cores, and 64 thread are considered the best combination for 3d video editing.

For 2D Work Artist (Photoshop/Illustrator)

2D is as demanding as 3D. Both have different CPU requirements. As we know CPU is the most important part of our computer. so that’s why having a good-quality CPU is always a better option. so that it can run higher software and games easily. But if you are a 2D artist and you are thinking of buying or building a PC for your 2D work art. then for your 2D animation or video editing ideally you need to have at least a quartz core or Hexa core processor which can operate at a speed of 2 gigahertz and at least that is comfortable to run at 64 operating systems too. A decent CPU can turn your renders from a time-consuming to a matter of hours. But if you can afford a faster processor then you should go with it.

The most common type of socket is the pin grid array (PGA), which is used to connect a CPU to a motherboard. PGA sockets have a grid of pins that make contact with the corresponding pins on the CPU. The number of pins on a PGA socket varies depending on the type of CPU it is designed for.

Another common type of socket is the land grid array (LGA). LGA sockets have a grid of pads that make contact with the corresponding pads on the CPU. The number of pads on an LGA socket also varies depending on the type of CPU it is designed for.

There are also several other types of CPU sockets, including the ball grid array (BGA), the dual in-line package (DIP), and the pin in-line package (PIP).

AMD CPU Socket Types lineup

The best and simplest way to determine which CPU and motherboard will work together is to see if they share the same sockets. The following CPU list will show you which AMD CPU motherboard can fit well first.

  • AMD CPU socket AM4

This socket was launched in 2017. This socket is compatible with many motherboards. It was considered the perfect CPU socket for modern gaming and editing. as it provides overclocking up to 4.6 GHz.

It was first launched in 2011. socket AM 3 plus motherboard was compatible with.

  1. Vishera – FX 4300 FX 4320, FX 8320, FX 8370,
  2. Zambezi – FX4100, FX 4120 ,FX 4130, 

Intel CPU Socket Types lineup

A CPU socket uses several pins to connect a CPU processor to the motherboard. as the CPU is connected to the CPU socket. it is not solder. That’s why we can replace them easily. and we can use the CPU according to our needs. Here below we have listed some types of sockets.

1. LG 1200 INTEL CPU SOCKET 

LG 1200 Intel CPU socket was launched in 2020. LG 12000 motherboard is compatible with all Comet Lake brackets (10th generation) Pentium gold, Celeron, core i3, core i5, core i7, and core i9. and also with Rocket Lake (11 generations). This CPU can be used by gamers, programmers, and editors as it provides a high level of smoothness.

2. LGA1151 INTEL CPU SOCKET

LGA1151 Intel CPU socket. This was launched in 2015. LGA 1151 motherboards are compatible with all Coffee Lake CPUs. but they don’t support Sky Lake, and Kaby Lake, a single-core performance of Intel’s Coffee Lake chip gives the best gaming performance CPU and provides a high clock speed of 5 GHz. That’s why they can be considered gaming CPUs.

3. LGA1150 INTEL CPU SOCKET

LG 1150 Intel CPU socket was launched in 2013. These motherboards are compatible with all hash well hash, and Well refresh. and Broad well CPU. No BIOS update is required as they are considered good CPU sockets. until the new one is launched. as the AMD processer launch. with this CPU can easily beat this CPU socket. they are good for normal games that don’t require a video card.

CPU Thermals

When we talk about CPU thermals then we are directly or indirectly talking about CPU thermal paste and thermal grease. CPU thermal paste is used to fill the gaps between the CPU and the heat sink.  CPU thermal paste is important for the proper cooling of the CPU. if you don’t apply them to the CPU they affect CPU performance. If you don’t apply CPU thermal then your CPU gets overheated.

The CPU heating is normal up to 60 degrees but if it crosses 60 degrees then it can damage the transistors fitted into the CPU and due to heating current resistance increases. which slows down the performance of your PC. The best way of applying CPU thermal paste is to put a small point at the center of the CPU and press it gently so that CPU thermal can get spread on your CPU. This is the best and perfect way to apply CPU thermal paste.

Your CPU is one of the most important parts of your computer, and it needs to be properly cooled in order to function at its best. Overheating can lead to decreased performance and even damage to your CPU.

There are a few different ways to cool your CPU. Passive cooling involves using heatsinks and fans to dissipate heat away from the CPU.

Active cooling uses refrigeration to remove heat from the CPU. Passive cooling is typically sufficient for most computers, but if you push your CPU to its limits, you may need to use active cooling. Active cooling is also recommended if you live in a hot climate or if your computer is in an enclosed space. Heatsinks are made of metal and have fins that help to dissipate heat. Fans are used to create airflow over the heatsinks and help to cool the CPU.

Refrigeration units use a coolant to remove heat from the CPU. The coolant is then circulated back to the refrigeration unit where the heat is dissipated. You can also use water cooling to cool your CPU. Water cooling involves circulating water over the CPU to remove heat. The water is then circulated back to a radiator where the heat is dissipated. CPU thermals can have a significant effect on performance. If your CPU is not properly cooled, it can overheat and throttle itself to prevent damage. This can lead to decreased performance.

If you are experiencing decreased performance due to CPU thermals, you may need to upgrade your cooling solution. If you are using a passive cooling solution, you may need to add additional fans or heatsinks. If you are using active cooling, you may need to upgrade to a more powerful refrigeration unit.

Water cooling is the most effective way to cool your CPU, but it is also the most expensive. If you are not willing to invest in water cooling, you can still get good results with a high-quality air cooling solution.
